I met Alisa through her son while performing in the same show. Even before I knew her well, she identified the gifts she saw in me and encouraged me in them. Later that year I was able to attend an artist retreat with her. Not only was I able to spend time with her, but I also watched her mentor others. Three things I’ve come to love about her are: Alisa sees gifts in people, she encourages them in their callings, and she helps to provide the space and resources they need to use those gifts. From that retreat, I was strengthened in my calling to reclaim the field of storytelling for God's glory.
